Beet It Sport March 2019 Ambassador Amanda FolandWould you describe yourself as an athlete?

Everyday I work towards having the title of an athlete. My goal is to work on the entire aspect of being an athlete; physical, mental, nutritional and to never stop learning how to push to be my best. I participate and compete in the sport of triathlon. I have completed all distances from sprints to full’s. My favorite distance is olympic distance; it has the right amount of speed and distance to push hard.

Have you always been an runner?

I ran the 400m in high school. I then ran in college as an outlet from 21 credit hours/semester. After graduation I picked up the sport of triathlon almost by accident, but knowing that I had great base in running, I knew I could finish the race confident and strong. Running is still my strongest leg of the race, and a place I can regain mental clarity on a daily basis.

Do you participate in many races?

Every year is different, but I tend to participate in 2, 70.3 distances and add in sprint/olympic distances to keep speed up. In 2019 I will be participating in 4, 70.3 races along with local sprints to stay fresh.

What motivates you to train and compete harder?

I am internally motivated. Knowing that what I do day in and day out is what controls my performance is motivating. As a personal trainer, business owner, endurance coach and sports nutrition specialist I love to help others to see their potential. That is a wonderful feeling, but as for myself it has to be me vs me. How can I make daily choices to increase my performance. From fuel to training, I focus in on how my body responds and what works best for me. Then, once you know those specifics, it’s game time.

Any tips on nutrition that you try and follow?

As a sports nutrition specialist the main advice I give athletes is to fuel their body with real, nutrient dense foods on a daily basis. Understanding what foods are specifically in relation to macronutrients; and then timing meals and foods around their workouts to fuel their body to meet the demands of training and recovery. Beet It Sport March 2019 Ambassador Amanda Foland

How did you hear about Beet It Sport?

I have known the benefits of beets for a while, and I incorporate shots and the real beets into race week or heavily loaded training weeks/weekends. I came across Beet-It-Sport when I was doing research on supplements and was impressed not only by the ingredients listed but the amount of research that when into the products. To me, you can not out do science. I was instantly hooked.

Did you notice a benefit to using Beet It Sport?

Absolutely, the amount of energy and lack of inflammation I noticed from Beet-It-Sport by far surpassed the other brands I have tried. My body tends to hold a lot of inflammation from high stress, so increasing my intake of supplements such as Beet-It-Sport allows me to recover faster, and in return train harder and perform better.
