How did you get involved in Ultra Running?
Well when I was a sophomore in high school my coach told use to come volunteer at a 48hr track race he was putting on to raise money for the cross country team and I told him I wanted to run it and win it and I did
What advice would you give to someone considering taking up Ultra Running?
Yeah I got a couple. There is Joe Fejes. Also Harvey Lewis is a good one and then my old coach, Everett Whiteside
Best Ultra Running achievement so far?
I would say ether my 100k track record or 48hr track record. My 48hr was my first but if you were at the fast track 24hr race this year you would know how hard I ran for the 100k record after falling off pace for 8 miles.
Aspirations in Ultra Running for 2018 and beyond?
Well I’m GONNA FINISH the Barkley marathons in 2019.
What are your top three sport nutrition tips?
- Hydrate before it’s too late
- Don’t try radically new things on race day
- Eat what makes you happy
What are your top three training tips?
- Lots of Miles I loves to run for hours
- Talk about it a lot so that you almost feel obligated to train all the time
- Speed kills. The faster you run the faster you hurt yourself
Can you give us an insight into your pre-race routine?
Well I wake up throw in the contacts go to the bathroom. Take my medicine then blast music in my car while boasting on my social media how I’m the greatest athlete alive then I’ll do a light warm up
